Dubai, UAE – XX February 2021: XXX, the super-contractor forged of Dubai-based main-contractor ALEC, and BUTEC, a design-build industrial contractor has announced that environmental sustainability will be a key component of the venture’s offering, a response to the UAE’s rank as a top ten performing country in terms of LEED accreditation.

Speaking on behalf of the announcements, ALEC managing director, Barry Lewis, said: “Thanks to our combined experience in the market, along with our emphasis on using innovative solutions to improve the overall construction process, we know that meeting and exceeding the environmental standards as set by our national leadership is not only the right thing to do in terms of protecting our natural environment, but furthermore for positioning Dubai as a global leader in sustainable building practices.”

According to a recent report, Dubai has ranked third in a list of global cities with the highest number of LEED-certified buildings, with the UAE also making the top ten list with its 600+ LEED-certified projects. The move comes at a time as contractors around the world scramble to implement more sustainable practices as a way to maximise margins by lowering development costs, while developers turn their attention towards reducing operational costs, as well as providing a healthier environment for occupants.
